The Louvre

The Louvre, the largest museum in the Western world, holds more than 30,000 pieces of art, and you can feel it. I have never in all my life stepped inside a building, let alone a museum, that is more ginormous. We spent between four and five hours in The Louvre, and we only saw a very small inkling of all that is inside.

... And here we go! The glass pyramid:

The Venus de Milo (or goddess of love):

Playing and basking in all that is the Gallery of Statues:

A very nice butt:

With the wife of Augustus, Livia:

Strolling among the Caesars:

With Augustus, the first emperor:

Winged Victory of Samothrace:

The jewel-studded crown of Louis XV:

We found our 'friendly window' to look out toward the pyramid:

Goodnight, Louvre!

The Louvre was certainly a must see, but it was not my favorite museum in Paris.
