Romans don't do dinner until 10 PM, so we figured with no reservations, we could easily be seated as soon as Roma Sparita opened for the evening. We arrived to the Piazza di S. Cecilia a bit early in anticipation, we were both just that excited. So we took to the rose gardens for a few photos:
Somehow we were exceptionally lucky that night, as they let us grab a table when they opened! They turned every other couple and group away who did not have reservations. We were the only two there for awhile, so I am not sure why this was... In any event, I would make reservations to eat here in the future, just to be safe. I would make reservations here for every night of the entire week you are here, actually!
We ordered their house wine along with fried artichokes and zucchini blossoms to start. In both Paris and Rome, the house wine was the way to go! It was delicious & a great price.
While the above was all very tasty, my main course, cacio e pepe, was fireworks to me.
Look at it - This dish is so simple yet perfect. It's 'thin noodles with cheese and pepper.' The parmesan crusted bowl it is served in takes the cake. I want this for dinner every night!
