Bentley's been wishing people happy birthday - he loves birthdays.
I woke up at 4 a.m. one Saturday for an annual beer event. Crazy, right? Yes, but it was also pretty fun, and I already confessed I'd do it again. It was a good time with friends, lots of excitement when we got what we drove all that way / waited for (Bourbon Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate), and we also met a cool culture of people who shared their rare beers with us like we were friends for years. Foothills let everyone bring their own coolers of beer into the brewery. What a party! It doubled over as the perfect tailgate for Carolina's home opener.
We had seats in the Pope Box for this game... What a treat! We enjoyed eats from shrimp and grits to Tar Heel sugar cookies. By the end of the game, whew, what a day. When Hank and I got home we had a package. Hank surprised me with a sticker book I'd had my eye on.
Fall is Umstead Park time, and it makes Bentley's week. We went on what Hank and I thought was a short hike, but Bentley decided to lay right in the middle of the trail and take a rest. Oh my.
Last Friday Night (I had to... I love Katy Perry) I hosted a Slumber Party with my SILS and MIL. We partied until the a.m. complete with painting nails, snacks, drinks and party favors.
I had some me and the man (Bentley) time while Hank was on his yearly Man Trip. Bentley and I roamed around Duke Gardens and watched the beginnings of a delightful wedding ceremony.
My sweet mom came up on Sunday for a girlie girl day. We had breakfast at the Farmer's Market, shopped around and purchased some great loot complete with a painted pumpkin named Jill.
We did a little shopping at the mall and ended our night at our favorite, Angus Barn. We had the best service and took a tour around the wine cellar where we were met with a $15,000 bottle of wine, seriously!? That's just crazy. I enjoyed my root beer float just fine.
I skipped out on working out during lunch one day this week, because it was too pretty not to enjoy campus. I walked by the sights like a tourist, grabbed Yogurt Pump and even completed the day with souvenirs.
Today I had some fun in a photo booth at a local hotel's opening. Friends are the best present.
