Charleston: #HelloHootie

On Saturday we slept in late, grabbed breakfast at the hotel and made our way to Sullivan's Island. It's more local, less tourist (probably because the alcohol fine is $1,400).

For some reason (probably the clouds) we didn't wear bathing suits, AND there was a river before the beach. So... We did a lot of trial and error to make it across. You would think yeah this is shallow, I'm going to make it, then boom, you were just about in too deep. But, we finally made it, and as always with this beach, it was worth it.

We played on the beach for a bit, finding seashells, drawing in the sand and such before heading to Page's Okra Grill for lunch. Bloody Mary for lunch? Hair of the dog (or the horse).

After getting ready at the hotel, we were back on the streets for our Hootie pregame. We stopped by The Gin Joint for cocktails - I had their gin fizz. Then we found ourselves at Pearlz with outdoor seating, a great waitress and delicious everything. I really liked their Southern Fried Oysters and the whole concept of them really. Dip your fried oyster in a bit of buffalo sauce and blue cheese with a side of celery... perfect pregame delight.

Then we were on our way to Hootie & the Blowfish on Daniel's Island... The main event.

The concert was ah-mazing. We danced and sang all night, in glow glasses, and it was great.
