Your Best Great

It's so funny how easy it is to make a day great, yet there are always these tiny obstacles that can get in the way. If I had to map out my great day, it's simple and goes something like this:

Wake up early. Take Bentley for a walk. Read daily devotional. Sit and think for say 10 minutes. Enjoy some morning time with Hank. Rock a cute outfit to work. Work hard. Workout during lunch. Eat a packed, healthy lunch. Be inspired, laugh and create while at work. Get home right on time. Front balcony sit with Bentley (love this big in the summer). Call, text or see someone I love at some point in the day. Light candle. Crank music. Cook dinner. Create. Blog. Quality time with Hank.

And that's it, it's so simple, but I'll sleep in late, because I love to sleep, and that puts the first six things right out the window, and so forth. When I do have this great, simple day, I notice it, and I'm so thankful. What I think is important to note too is what did not make the list. I didn't say sit and double tap on Instagram for say 10 minutes, or go out to eat for lunch everyday or shop it out online. I love all of those things in moderation (today I'm going to Elements for lunch and am excited by it), but when they become a habit and I do less of what I've mapped out above, it's not my great day - my ideal best day. We all have our own journeys, and everyone's great day looks a little different, but we all have an ideal great day that makes us happy.

I think the first step to achieving more great days is to type a quick note on your phone - without any other influences - on what makes your day great. Then try to live by it. When you get off track, you'll feel it, and you have that note in your phone to remind you to get back to it, and you start again. I wish for all of us to live more great days, where when the day comes to a close and we're snuggled up in bed, we can say that was a good, full day. And as for weekends, those are for adventures. Happy Friday, and Happy Weekend. Let's make it your best great.
