True Confession

I hate filler words... um, uh, you know, like, etc. I'm a huge like person. I like all over the place.

I hate I do it. I was not born in Southern Cal in the 70s (where like originated), and I am no Clueless cast member.

I'm 23, and I still have not grasped the fact that when speaking there are natural pauses where silence is golden... I feel like (for example) I have to fill the space. I need to stop being a,

"You'll need, like, three tablespoons of butter" person

...And start being a,

"You'll need roughly three tablespoons of butter" person.

From this post on, I vow to start pausing more and liking less.
