This is Germany

The peak of my trip was sitting so comfortably in a chair at the front of the M.S. Amadeus Diamond. I was curled up in an oversized sweater, cruising beneath Carolina blue skies. The sun kissed my face as the ship whisked through the river. I was traveling through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I passed castles after castles, after historic towns and plush vineyards. It was like nothing I had ever seen. The landscape was dramatic, and I was in complete and serene bliss. Then, a waiter offered a glass of champagne, and I thought, does it get any better than this... Here are some of my favorite photos from Wurzburg to Bernkastel.

{Wurzburg}

{Rothenburg}

{Heidelberg}

{Rudesheim}

{Koblenz}

{Cochem}

{Trier}

{Bernkastel}

"One thinks Heidelberg by day - with its surroundings - is the last possibility of the beautiful; but when he sees Heidelberg by night, ... he requires time to consider upon the verdict."
