LOVE

Maura and I noticed nonstop love all over the city. It was EVERYWHERE!! Lots of people kissing, holding hands and generally just being in love. In addition to all of this love, we saw even more love, like a couple taking their wedding photos in Grand Central Station -

And we saw a couple get engaged on the ice at Rockefeller Center -

I thought it was super creative. They cleared the ice (to clean it), and the guy got down on one knee, and she said Yes! and looked adorable and the thousands upon thousands of people all around cheered, and she got flowers and their picture taken. Then Maura told me everyone does that, and you sign-up and there is a fee, and then I thought it wasn't so creative anymore... But still so cute in regards to how surprised and happy she was. Whew...

Get Creative!

I'm an advertising major that loves marketing too... It's just limitless! What I love a lot about NYC is that there is advertising and marketing all around. The most innovative creations are just waiting to be seen... Like pop-up shops! How perfect is this:

It not only grabs your attention, but it screams pop in for your last minute gifts. It's all about the unexpected... What do you do if you have to use the bathroom quick in NYC, where to go? Charmin took the worry out of wondering:

Charmin Restrooms in Times Square. They have been a holiday-season staple since 2006. Charmin has toilets and their bear outside enticing you to come inside. Once inside they have a potty dance stage for the children. Each stall is themed out as a famous U.S. landmark. They have an oversized toilet for you to take photos from and an emcee and staff cheering on all of their visitors.

While neither of us had to use the bathroom - it was still exceptionally entertaining and downright ridiculous. When these visitors are at their grocery store in need of toilet paper, they will at least see Charmin on the shelf and think twice about purchasing it now.

NY Pizza

It gets to hog a post all to itself.

There is literally nothing like this in the South! I've grown up with NY pizza all of my life, and it is just flat out amazing. One of my favorite northern pizza details are the pepperonis. They are always up like a cup! This allows them to hold a little extra deliciousness in them. Oh how I miss this pizza already...
